During the winter months you can join the laides of the parish and serve the Lord with your time, and talents.
St. Paul's has quilting on Monday's 9am-3pm.† All are welcome, no experience necessary.
Most of the material is donated items or old clothing, however, she does go to Blackduck to a material store that saves the ends of the bolts for the churches. She brings back garbage bags full of material and sorts them out to cut into squares.
We need more people to help tie the quilts from Jan to March, if you have an extra afternoon, please join us.
St. Paul's' Quilters credits Lydia Klatt as being instrumental in getting the quilting started in the 1950's.† We have continued each winter, January through March, with an average of 15 ladies each week and we usually complete a total of 14 to 15 quilts.
We meet Monday's at St Paul's quilting equipped basement, starting at 9:AM.† We encourage all who are interested, regardless of experience to join us.† You can come when you can, and leave when you must.† W can always use more helpers as there are many tasks.† Some of the tasks include cutting blocks, sewing seams, tying the quilts, pinning edges together and of course "kitchen duties", so we can eat the generous supply of potluck lunch that is always brought.
The quilts are given to local needs such as crisis centers, Agape, WIC, mahube, food shelfs, Pelican Rapids Social Services, Island Camp Auction, Orphan Grain Train, World Relief†and to each of our high school graduates
